Are you doing these 3 things to support your immunity?

Did you know that we can actively improve our immune function?

The immune system can be a bit of an abstract concept—where is it exactly? If you're interested in learning more about the 'who, what when, where, why, how?' basics of the immune system, we have that covered in "Spill the Beans - 6 immunity rumours".

In this blog post, we'll be talking about how we can give it ongoing support through basic diet, lifestyle and nutrient factors.

1. Eating Wholefoods

The food we eat can support or challenge our immune system. Can you guess which foods are on Team Support...?

Food is our primary source of the essential micronutrients that fuel the pathways in our body. Eating (mostly!) nutrient-dense, wholefoods that are in-season and organic when possible, supports not just better immune function but the wellbeing of our whole being.

On the other hand, processed and refined foods are inflammatory and place unnecessary strain on our body and immune system.

Of course, it's what we do most of the time, not all of the time that matters most. If we're eating a nutrient-dense, whole foods diet ~80% of the time, a lovely treat or night out should be enjoyed without guilt.

2. Getting in your Daily Nutrients

For a number of reasons, getting adequate nutrients to support optimal wellness from food alone—is harder than you might think!

Taking a high-quality multivitamin and a high-quality fish oil such as the BePure Everyday Health Pack helps us to fill in the gaps we don't cover from our daily diet. It gives our bodies the best shot at optimal wellness each day.

Broad spectrum nutrient sufficiency supports wellbeing of our whole being. Everything from our skin, hormones and gut health, to our mental wellbeing—and everything in between! Since we're talking about immunity, when it comes to the nutrient-immunity relationship, the production of immune molecules is dependant on adequate levels of zinc and vitamin C.

Once you confidently have your daily nutrient requirements taken care of, immune superheroes zinc, vitamin C, and vitamin D are excellent to have at the ready for extra immune support when you are under and increased stress load or you can can feel a cough, cold or sniffle on its way.

3. Getting Quality and Adequate Sleep

Sleep is incredibly important for our immune function—both for preventing sickness, and if we do become unwell, supporting our recovery.

It is while we're sleeping that a number of regenerative, and restorative processes take place. Chronic sleep deprivation can make us significantly more susceptible to viruses and infections.

Prioritising rest when we feel we are getting sick, or when we are sick, is an important part of the recovery process and can help us get back in action faster.

If you have trouble getting to sleep, BePure Magnesium Restore and BePure Deep Sleep are specially designed to help you nod off with ease, stay asleep, and wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day! Creating a nourishing bedtime routine can also make it easier to get to sleep.
