Tofu Chocolate Mousse

When that chocolate craving hits, it’s easy to reach for something sugary and processed. But with this simple recipe, you can satisfy your sweet tooth with nourishing, nutrient-rich ingredients.

Why we love it:

  • Protein boost: Silken tofu is packed with plant-based protein and contains all nine essential amino acids, making this dessert more sustaining than your average mousse.
  • Antioxidant-rich: Dark chocolate is loaded with polyphenols that act as powerful antioxidants.
  • Low in sugar: Made with dark chocolate and a touch of honey, this indulgent dessert is low on sugar but rich in flavour.

 

Ingredients:

300g silken tofu

100g dark chocolate, melted (85% cocoa is a great, lower sugar option)

2 heaped tbsp honey

1 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

 

Method:

Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender.

Blitz until silky smooth.

Enjoy straight away as a pudding, or refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set into a mousse.

 

BePure tip: Top with fresh berries or a sprinkle of cacao nibs for extra antioxidants and crunch. Yum!
