This protein slice will get you through December!! It’s simple to whip up and is perfect for snacking on in between meals. Most of us don’t get enough protein in our diets, so adding an extra boost can do wonders for our energy levels.
GF & DF (depending on your choice of chocolate)
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup of nut butter of choice (peanut butter, almond or cashew are great)
- (Optional 2 Tbsp honey)
- 2 Tbsp melted coconut oil
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/3 cup LSA (could also use straight almond meal or ground flaxseed)
- 1/2 cup Perfect Protein powder
- 2 Tbsp hemp seeds
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 70g dark chocolate (we used 90% cacao)
- Sea salt to finish
How to make:
- Mix together nut butter, honey, melted coconut oil and vanilla essence in a bowl
- Add LSA, protein powder, hemp seeds, chia seeds and cinnamon
- Mix to combine, and then use hands to help work the mixture until it resembles cookie-dough. Add more coconut oil if needed
- Press mixture into a baking paper-lined tin
- Melt chocolate in a double boiler or microwave
- Pour chocolate over base layer and tilt tray to spread evenly across
- Sprinkle with sea salt and place in the freezer for 1hr
- Slice into bars, store in the fridge or freezer and enjoy! Keeps for up to two weeks
